09.11.26 the-rules-of-art-within-content-09.11.26

As there becomes an increase in the difference between the logic that governs the field of artistic production and the field of content production, the importance of understanding which rules a producer is playing by will become more and more important. Hopefully, one day consumers of those fields will distinctly recognize what rules a producer is playing by rather than the current state of consumer's perception.

Artists who play by the rules of the field of content production and content creators that play in the field of artistic production will feel alienated within their mediums and audiences. We're seeing that more and more as a section of the population of both fields (headed under the field of cultural production as the field of content produciton becomes more autonomous).

I believe that success of operators within their respective fields will have their success correlated with their understanding of the rules in which they work with.

It is worth mentioning that the field of content production is still vastly unknown. The recategorization of attention as a form of economic capital distorts perceived tangible world success. High attention individuals do not necessarily have high monetary value unless they are aligned with an entity that correlates attention and monetary compensation.
